Personal Umbrella

Overview Of The Personal Umbrella Program

The Need For Umbrella Policies
A personal umbrella broadens the liability coverage that you already have through your homeowners and auto insurance policies, as well as protects you in some odd, unforeseen circumstances. The umbrella was created to protect people from large losses and to provide you, and the members of your household, with an extra layer of liability protection.

What are the Umbrella Provisions?
We provide Umbrella policies with limits of one, two, three, four, or five million dollars in excess liability protection. An umbrella can also cover many situations that your current policies may not. The following are other benefits of a personal umbrella:

  • It can provide payment for legal defense costs when primary insurance does not apply.
  • It can protect you from foreign risk exposures while traveling because umbrella protection is usually applicable worldwide.
  • It can cover watercraft and non-owned recreational vehicles.

What are the Underlying Requirements?
If you choose to purchase an umbrella policy for one of the following you must meet the certain requirements to qualify:

  • $250/500/100 or $300/500/100 ON AUTO LIABILITY

What are the Ineligible Risks?

  • Applicants who have had more than one(1) liability claim that exceeds $25,000 in payment during the last five (5) years.
  • Business pursuits including policies written in a corporate name.
  • No underlying CPL.
  • Risks with Commercial Underlying Policies.

Is it Worth it?
Should you find yourself facing a lawsuit, any gaps in your current coverage could end up costing you your life savings. A personal umbrella can help you avoid these gaps in your insurance protection. Protect your family and your life's assets.
